Airdrie United U19s went down 3-1 last night against St Mirren in the quarter final of the Scottish Youth Cup. The long awaited game took place under the floodlights at Excelsior Stadium and it was St Mirren who took the game to Airdrie to go 2-0 up inside the 1st 30 minutes through an OG and a penalty. The boys picked themselves up and create a number of chances from set plays with Jamie Bain getting on the end of a great cross to pull one back before half time. The 2nd half saw both teams have chances but it was the SPL side that grabbed the decisive goal to see them through to a semi final clash against Rangers
