Airdrie Football Centre opened it's doors this week to the Public. Wednesday night saw the first games played on the new 3g pitches. Our local boys teams from 5 years old to 14 took to the pitches 1st on a mild evening but it didn't take long for things to heat up as the tackles and shots were flying in... and that was just our Under 6s.
Following the boys onto the pitches were the adult footballers although the term footballers could be stretching things for some. You can book one of our fantastic new 3G pitches by calling Scott on 01236 622000 or online by clicking here. With 9 new pitches, professional football changing facilities and enough parking for everyone, you will not be disappointed. Look out for our regular newsletter detailing the latest events, matches & league programmes.
Local businesses who swapped suits and overalls for shorts and strips together with local football sides and fans teams left the newly fitted out away dressing room to take over from the talented kids. The stadium team took on the Press side assembled by Andy McInnes and 1st blood went to the stadium team with a goal inside the 1st minute. This goal however is being challenged as the 1st adult goal scored at the new complex by a goal scored in one of the fans games. A tight game saw Big Bites Catering go nip and tuck with the younger(fitter) boys from Stevenson & Kelly. Chris Mac dusted off his boots to dazzle in the Internazioswally's match whilst Neil Brown had a busy night in goals in the Allstars game....busy picking the ball out of his net. Wullie McNab assembled his coaches team from NLC and took on WEBATA where Scott Rae continued to enhance his reputation as a hachet man kicking anything that moved. Wullie said later he was delighted he wore his shinguards. Grudge match of the night saw Airdrie Savings Bank staff in a challenge of old -v- young. Billy McCall said after the match that the old heads were always in charge but he never revealed the score??? A great opening night for the new facility and with an after schools club, fun fours, midnight league, an over 35s league and 5 asides tournaments all in the pipeline it should prove to be a busy hub for football in Airdrie You can book one of our fantastic new 3G pitches by calling Scott on 01236 622000 or online by clicking here. We are open from tonight, so why not come along and have a look for yourself at our State of the Art Complex, we will be happy to show you around and answer any questions you have. With 9 new pitches, professional football changing facilities and enough parking for everyone, you will not be disappointed.
