A second half strike from Gary Woods was enough to see Ross County claim the 3 points and go top of the 1st division.  Airdrie started the first half brightly and dominated possession for long periods with two efforts from John Baird which were saved by Michael McGovern the closest the Diamonds came to scoring. 

The second half was a tight affair and it was always looking that one goal would decide the game and this came in the 78th minute when a ball was played into the box and Wood turned to fire home.
