2 Second half goals saw Airdrie close the gap on Ayr United to 6 points. Paul Lovering scored another penalty today to make it 3 goals in 2 games. Scott McLaughlin rounded the day off with the second goal.

Partick Thistle had the chance to go ahead on the hour mark but Liam Buchanan's penalty was fired wide.

Airdrie United kept up there survival hopes with another great home performance.  A settled back 4 inspired by Captain and man of the match Paul Lovering lead the way and all around the park Airdrie players fought for every ball and showed a passion to keep the Diamonds in the 1st division.

A tight 1st half resulted in the teams going in at half time 0-0.  With the second half underway chances were being created and it was Partick who had the chance to take the lead when a Marc Smyth challenge in the box led to Partick being awarded a penalty. Liam Buchanans miss gave Airdrie a lift and 10 minutes later Scott Gemmil was brought down in the box and Paul Lovering stepped up to put the Diamonds in front.  5 minutes later a superb strike from Scott McLaughlin doubled the advantage and secured the 3 points for Airdrie.
