Two goals inside the 1st 15 minutes at The Caledonian Stadium last night left Airdrie with a mountain to climb. Adam Rooney scored 1st for Caley on the 10 minute mark following some good work by Richie Foran who double the lead 4 minutes later when he fired low under Stephen Robertson. Whilst Airdrie fought hard to get back into the match Inverness always looked dangerous on the break but there was to be no further scoring in the half
The second half started similar to the 1st and Inverness made it 3-0 in the opening minutes of the half when Grant Munro struck from a corner. Johny Hayes then rounded off a miserable night for the diamonds when he fired home with 7 minutes left to play. Airdrie now face Morton at the Excelsior Stadium knowing nothing but a win will be good enough in their fight to stay in the division.
