Airdrie United 1 Inverness CT 1

John Bairds 1st half strike was not enough for Ardrie to secure their 1st 3 points of the season.  Johnny Hayes late equaliser saw the Diamonds record their 4th 1-1 draw of the season.

In a match that Airdrie dominated for long periods a share of the points was to be the only reward.  From the kick off the diamonds took the game to the visitors and deservedly broke the deadlock in 25minutes when John Baird had time to turn in the box and shoot. 

The second half started much the same as the 1st and a run down the right by Alan Trouten saw him brought down in the box.  John Baird stepped up to take the penalty only to see his effort saved by Esson.  This was to prove costly as Johnny Hayes drilled home a Richie Foran lay off with 7 minutes of the game to equalise for the Highlanders.  With time running out Airdrie were handed a super chance to collect all 3 points when Kevin Watt got on the end of a Alan Trouten cross only to see his effort slip wide.
