Kenny shares his thoughts on this week.
With the covers placed down earlier in the week, the pitch is in good condition this morning.
Following on from our trip to Dunfermline last week, I am hopeful we can build on what was a positive performance. Our outfield play was as good as it's been all season and indeed the only negative was the failure to take all 3 points. There was no surprise for me that Lee Hollis proved himself to be an able deputy and it is only down to the consistency of Robbo that Lee has been denied a longer run in the first team. I was delighted with his show against the Pars.
We travelled to Murray Park on Tuesday to face a strong Rangers side with a mixture of boys who haven't featured recently and a number of trialists. A worthwhile outing which provided some of the squad with a much needed 90 minutes versus top class opponents. Paul Lovering also gained from an hour on the park.
On the subject of trialists, no business has been done so far but I am monitoring the situation closely. There is anticipation but also frustration at the difficulty in attracting new players as quickly as we would like. We certainly would like to add to the squad having loaned Stuart Noble to Alloa and young Chris McMenamin to Berwick. I am keen to hold on to Willie McLachlin until the end of the season and I am waiting on official confirmation from Rangers on the matter.
Dundee this weekend sees us begin an important run of league and cup games where we need to gather as many points as possible and hope to reach the next round of the Homecoming Cup. Dundee, under Jocky Scott have become difficult to break down and with some of their key players returning they will prove difficult opponents.
With Lovers back in action and Stephen Robertson looking like he's available again, I have a full squad to choose from on Saturday.
Enjoy the Match.
