Airdrie United is pleased to announce with immediate effect the appointment of John Drysdale as Commercial Manager. John has six years of experience in this aspect of football, and we hope he can help revitalise the club off the field as Jimmy Boyle does the same on the park.

 Initially, John's appointment is on a part-time basis, but this will be reviewed as the season develops. He will be looking to grow advertising, sponsorship and hospitality revenues significantly in the months ahead, so please get in touch with him (details below) if you think your business might benefit from these opportunities, or if you know someone John could approach. John will be looking to expand the direct commercial opportunities of the Club and with a new arrangement in place that ensures the Football Club and the Stadium Company both benefit from hospitality revenues, we are certain this move is a success. We are looking for this step to be another of the pointers to the fresh direction the football club is taking in 2010 and beyond.

Jim Ballantyne confirmed “ We knew we had a weakness in this area and have been looking to address this for some time. I have known about  John’s work  for a number of years and have followed his commercial achievements with a degree of envy. When the opportunity arose to bring John to the Club it was one that I was not about to miss”.

He continued “ We specifically referred to this aspect when we announced our proposed share opportunity and the timing of this appointment could not have been better. We are currently finalising the last details of the shares update and hope to issue further details in the next 7 days”.
