As many will now be aware, I moved from Vice President to President of the SFL on Tuesday after Brown McMaster decided to stand down for non-football reasons. Brown has led the SFL through some very tough challenges and has played a major role in improving the standing of the SFL in Scottish Football. In fairness, the appointment could not have come at a worse time on the domestic front with Airdrie’s current position but rest assured that I am still fully committed to this football Club as I always have been. This change was not planned and I am still coming to terms with it but I regard it as an honour and I will do my utmost for the organisation. I am very passionate about the SFL and I have enjoyed my time as Vice but the post of President will bring a whole new challenge and I am looking forward to it. With regard to our own challenges, the game against Morton last week was hard to take but we have to take it on the chin and move on to the next game. I was disappointed in the way that we caved in as a team and I am expecting a huge improvement and a reaction this week. The Scottish Cup is welcome relief from our League woes and it gives the players a chance to start rebuilding our season. There is no point feeling sorry for ourselves and all the talking must now be on the park. It is eleven against eleven and it is time for the players to show our fans that we really want it more than our opposition and show a level of professional pride that will lift the entire Club. JB
