 We head to Dens Park tomorrow in a positive frame of mind following our win at home last week. Whilst the result against Ayr was the most important factor the performance the whole team put in was the a pleasing aspect of the 3 points we gained. At 5 o'clock last week we were desperate to face Dundee and for most of us the game can't come quick enough.
There were many positives to draw on from our victory last week. Boosted by a fully fit central defensive partnership for the 1st time in weeks, players coming back into the squad and genuine options for team selection I was delighted that we gave a performance that showed the players are up for the challenges ahead. Ricky Waddells return provided genuine width to the team and Alan Troutens goals will be a tremendous boost. I was also pleased that Diarmuid again scored for us. After losing the goal in the fashion we did just before half time it would have been easy for the players to dwell on it and feel sorry for themselves but they didn't and in the end the win was more comfortable than even the 3-1 scoreline suggested. Tomorrow we face a Dundee side sitting top of the league. People are not expecting us to get anything from the game but the boost we got from last week will give the team added zip and determination to return from Dundee with points. Tomorrow will also be the 1st time this season that I have the same squad available 2 weeks in a row and that is also a huge plus. Frankie Lagana returned to training this week and Scott Gemmil is slowly returning to fitness. Unfortunately Marc Smyths scan has should a problem and he goes under the knife on Monday and will be out for an extended period. This weekend also sees the Under 19s play there 3rd round Scottish FA Youth Cup tie at home to Inverness. The boys performance in the 1st two rounds have been impressive and if they can take that form into tomorrows game they will do very well
