The whole season wrapped up in one game. PDF Print E-mail

Today sees the whole season come down to a single game to decide our immediate future and whether that will be in the first or second division.

One game with home advantage against Ayr United to stay up, looks on paper like the odds are with us, but having gone 2 goals up on Wednesday night only for Ayr to come storming back to level at 2 - 2 serves notice of what we can expect today.

Kenny Black meanwhile has been concentrating on getting his squad prepared for the biggest match of the season. The players were in on Saturday morning for a light training session before resting up for Sunday.

So let's have one last heroic effort frrom the fans in urging the team on to victory and first Division football next term, let's hear it from the rafters from the first kick to the last.

Win or lose today, the Chairman declared earlier in the week that whatever the outcome, the Diamonds will remain fulltime next season. He told the Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser, this week,

“This particular issue has been on our minds for a while.“We had to be grown up about it as there is a chance that we could lose the play-off final. “But looking at the whole picture, we have decided this is the way it has got to be. “The one thing that became clear when looking at previous second division seasons was that being full-time was quite an advantage".

Enjoy the game, and be sure to get along early as it is certain to be the biggest crowd of the season.
