FINAL CHANCE
Date Posted : 09/05/2008

Kenny speaks about the Play-off final and looks forward to July when it all kicks off again.

Let me say first off that I would much rather be in our position right now than that of Raith Rovers. Overcome a 0 - 1 at Clyde and we are back in the first division by our own efforts.

We cannot allow any talk of the uncertainty surrounding Gretna FC to detract from the job in hand. We know what's needed to progress.

Looking to next term, the play-off situation has again left me unsure of where or who we play next season therefore forward planning is difficult.

Having announced this week though that the Club will remain full time has been a massive boost, as you can imagine. Trying to find suitable facilities for 2 nights per week can't be a lot of fun, I'm sure. In fact good facilities on a full time basis are not that easy to secure so if anyone out there has a lush, grassy area approximately 75 metres by 105 metres that you don't mind a football squad running around , please let me know.

There can be no alternative, if this Club is to get to where we believe it should be,to Full-time football where we can work, prepare and assess a squad on a daily basis.

As with any other Club at this level, there is a nucleus of a Team who will set the foundation for next years' squad. Some players who are offered new terms may choose to look elsewhere others may fancy staying to have another crack under my guidance, new faces will appear, some of our boys may leave. In any event, next season beckons and I relish the challenge.

Finally, along with the backroom staff I would like thank everyone for their support this season and we look forward to renewing our aquaintance for the next campaign.
